Adventure Course

Element consists of a four-sided pole course with platforms built about 45 feet high.
This is OWLS’ most physically and mentally challenging high element. The course sits in an open field, adding an air of exposure to the demanding entrance and traverse elements.

Pairs of participants enter by climbing up staples on opposing poles, and then cross cables and suspended wooden blocks and/or beams to meet one another midway through the traverse. They work together to balance and cross paths, and continue on to the opposing platform where their partner began.

Appropriate for groups that are physically high-functioning and looking for a more demanding experience.
Sports teams, students from schools with more traditional ropes courses, coaches and physical education teachers will appreciate this course for its high physical challenge, as well as the ability to work on goal-setting and support.

Island Hop
Island picture
At 45 feet in the air the idea of jumping from island to island can be a bit unnerving.

Balance Beam
Balance beam picture
It is like any other balance beam except it is 45 feet in the air. No hands, eyes closed and backwards are all options for an increased challenge.

Magic Carpet
Magic Carpet
The hand lines start out at a comfortable level, but get lower and lower as you get closer to the magic carpet. You finally step on the wobbly magic carpet. Now you’re half way done and still need to get back to the other platform.

Pirates Crossing
Pirates Crossing
This is a tricky element that involves walking along a thick rope 45 feet in the air. People tend to run into trouble when the rope they are holding ends and they must switch to the other rope.
